Although it can be difficult to set up, having individual landing pages for all of your products or services (or at least categories) can really pay off. If you just have a list of keywords on your homepage, Google will note that, but it will not necessarily give your business much weight for those items. However, linking those keywords to pages dedicated to a single topic should dramatically improve your ranking in search engines. If each page has a specific heading along with an appropriate meta description, and related content on the page, it will show Google that this is an important part of your business, and they will rank it accordingly.

What can (and can't) social do for your business?
Social is one of the top buzzwords these days when it comes to our current electronic era. There have been many others, and I suspect it will just blend in as a natural part of the Internet/Mobile space over the next few years. For now, it is a useful tool businesses can use for building trust & authority, bringing publicity & traffic, and even improving your search ranking.
However, social media cannot change you core of your business. Like any other type of marketing, if you do not have a good product, social media can't help.

The Importance of Incoming Links to Your Search Ranking
One of the key factors for improving your rank in Google search results is the number and strength of links pointing to your Website. According to Google, a link to your site is a vote for your site, and the more important the site linking to your site, the better. (In this case, an important site is one that has a lot of incoming links and pageviews.) Also, the closer the site's content is to yours, the better. If you have a Website for a restaurant, then links from a site that reviews restaurants is more important that a link from a site about dog grooming.
